Atlantis is a broad-spectrum herbicide very effective for the control of grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in wheat. It is a combination herbicide based on Mesosulfuron-methyl and Iodosulfuron-methyl sodium. It is a novel safe sulfonyl urea-based product for post-emergent application.
MODE OF ACTION
In agreement with other herbicides of the sulfonylurea group, the primary target site of action is the enzyme acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS). Both the actives are phloem-xylem mobile in the target weed both via the foliage and via the soil, with a clear predominance of foliar action. The visible symptoms of herbicide action are arrested growth within the first few days after application and the appearance of chlorotic patches, followed by slow shoot necrosis. Susceptible plants stop growth almost immediately after post-emergence application. Plants will be completely killed in 4 to 6 weeks after application.
Herbicide Resistance Action Committee (HRAC) Classification Group B (both a.i.)
FEATURES
The excellent quality of grass control by Atlantis is founded on its broad control spectrum and its reliable efficacy. Co-infestation with different grass weed species on a field or a farm can be easily managed.
Excellent control of resistant Phalaris minor.
Also controls broadleaf weeds like Chenopodium, Rumex, and Melilotus.
Long-lasting performance –The foliar efficacy controls all emerged grasses whereas the soil action controls the future emergence.
CROPS AND TARGET WEEDS
Time of Application: Due to flexibility in the time of application to control grasses and some dicot weeds, the application can be made in the extended window, i.e., the 2 to 4 leaf stage when the wheat crop is around 30-35 days old.
